    This study investigated L2 learners’ perception changes at each stage of online collaborative writing. Previous studies revealed the familiarity of L2 collaborative learning with Information and Communication Technology (ICT), whereas few described at which stage of the learning process L2 learners’ perceptions change. Therefore, this study examines how the learners’ attitudes and perceptions change at certain phases of collaborative learning and whether these changes affect the success or failure of their L2 collaborative learning. This study analyzed two questionnaire surveys before and after the learning activity, observed the collaborative learning processes via visualization tools, and conducted semi-structured interviews for participants to reflect on their learning processes and perceptions of collaborative writing. The mixed research analyses demonstrate that advancing a particular stage leads to the learners’ linguistic awareness and the shift of their attitudes more positively. The findings show the factors and stages determining the success of L2 online collaborative learning.

    本論では,コウルリッジの書簡を社会ネットワーク分析によりデータ可視化することにより,コウルリッジの書簡上の交友関係の概観を掴み,新しい特徴を探索した。コウルリッジは多種多様な人物に多くの手紙を送り交友を持った。その一方,何度も手紙をやり取りする人物に関しては,比較的数が少なく何かの社会関係に偏ることはなかった。親しい間柄,仕事上の付き合い,面倒をみてもらう間柄,距離の遠さ,議論を交わす関係という要因が何度も手紙をやり取りする相手との関係にみられ,交友関係の親密さとして現れている。

    本論の目的は、コウルリッジが劇詩『悔恨』において、ロマン派的想像力の理想として展開する「時と場所を制御する想像力」がいかなるものであるか、また劇的幻想を実現するために時と場所を制御する想像力をいかに重要視しているかを示すことである。『悔恨』にみられる想像力は「精神の空間」と「常に漂うイメージ」の二種類がある。これらのイメージはその性質上、舞台でのパフォーマンスに不向きであり上演時に削除されたが、コウルリッジは書籍版の『悔恨』を作成するにあたり削除されたイメージの多くを再挿入している。このことはコウルリッジが時と場所を制御する想像力を重要視している証拠となるだろう。

    The present research is rooted in the widespread and difficult teaching situation of many studies lacking basic academic ability in English and a fundamental level of English proficiency. An action research was conducted to examine whether such students can learn pragmatic components (learning that requires independent and proactive learning).The action research shows low-level students in my English teaching situation can learn pragmatics, and they can also learn compliments and compliment responses with some conditions. Students have the potential to develop their pragmatic ability, but some characteristics hinder their learning. For example, students have inaccurate grammer and spelling knowledge, and students generally have vague knowledge of pragmatic components.They tend to repeat lesson plant text because it is easier for them to produce than to think on their own accord. Students also quickly get bored with classroom practice. Yet students have potential pragmatic ability. In order to compensate these characteristics, teaching pragmatic components in a deductive and prescriptive way is adequate for low-level students.     The purpose of this paper is to examine the localized classroom practice in Japan and propose some pedagogical implications for teaching locally initiated classroom practice. The paper first examines the rationale for localized classroom practice. The localized classroom practice is ground-up, nonsystematic, and transformative(Canagarajah, 2005b.). The paper then reviews a broad picture of the classroom practice in outer circle and expanding circle countries, and classroom practice in Japan. The issues for localized classroom practice begin at questioning the implementaion of CLT in local context, especially considering the circumstances of EFL.Many TESOL professionals claim the importance of local context in TESOL pedagogy and suggest implications for teaching appropriate to local context.     This paper investigates the Coleridge-Southey dialogue about their dramatic works of The Fall of Robespierre and Wat Tyler in 1794. By concentrating on the three ideas of "virtue", "justice" and "vengeance" found in both plays, this paper proposes a possibility of tracing poetic dialogue between Coleridge and Southey and shows how the dialogue continues as responses to previous poems. During the composition process in The Fall of Robespierre, Coleridge recognized differences in the essential concepts of virtue and justice between him and Southey, and supplemented reoriented concepts of virtue and justice, denial of justification of genocide, in order to respond to Southey's part of the play. Southey, in turn, was discontented with ideologies of the French Revolution expressed in their own drama of The Fall of Robespierre. Southey reorganized the ideas of justice and vengeance according to his own liberal-radical politics and demonstrated them in the similar theme of Wat Tyler in order to respond to his and Coleridge's previous play The Fall of Robespierre.     関東学院大学経済学部の学生支援GP 事業の1つに,1年次初級英語クラス履修者を対象とした,授業担当者と学生支援室チューターの連携による文法復習プログラムがある。同プログラムの2007年の取組データより,取組のまじめさが「フレッシャーズ・イングリッシュ(初級)」の単位修得及び成績に反映されたことが示唆された。しかし,同プログラムへの学生の参加率の低さも焦点化された。そこで,学生の英語学習への動機づけを調べるアンケート調査を行い,動機づけの観点から考察を加えた。その結果,学生は,概して英語学習への動機づけは高いが,有能感を持ちえず苦手意識を持っていることがわかった。一方,まじめに取り組んだ学生については,同プログラムが,学生に有能感と達成感を与え,参加の動機づけを維持させ続けたと考えられる。この成功例をもとに,本文法復習プログラムへの学生の参加率を高めることが,学生の英語力向上に重要である。

    関東の一大学経済学部における2014年度の英語教育は,同大学の5カ年計画の事業の一つとして,初中級学生の英語力の底上げを図り,実践的な英語力を養成することを目標とした。具体的には,1.市販教材を使用して自習できるまでに初中級学生の英語力の底上げを図ること,2.TOEIC受験率を上げること,3.カリキュラム改革等を通して学生が英語でわずかながらもコミュニケーションを取れるよう教育環境を整えることの三点である。初中級学生の英語の熟達度の底上げを図るために,2年次英語補習としてTOEIC準拠教材に取り組ませ,また2013年度の検証結果をもとにeメンターを導入して継続的な学習を促した。語学としての英語や補習教材に関する動機づけのアンケートを実施し検証した結果,補習への取組が継続的になされ,また一部の学生に理想だけではなく実際の学習行為への動機づけの上昇がみられた。TOEIC受験料の補助制度を設けることでTOEIC受験者数が増加し,またリスニングの学習が有益であ
